Feb 1, 2014 - Canadian North Official Carrier for Inuit Circumpolar Council General Assembly

Canadian North is pleased to announce that it is the official airline of the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) General Assembly, being held by the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) taking place July 21 to 24, 2014 in Inuvik Northwest Territories, with a theme of “Ukiuqtaqtumi Hivuniptingnun - One Arctic One Future”.

Inuvik will be welcoming Inuit delegates, youth, elders, cultural performers, artists and others from Russia, Greenland, Alaska and Canada to celebrate the unity of the Inuit and map out the future direction of the Inuit Circumpolar Council over the next four years.

“This is a great opportunity for Canadian North to support our beneficiaries, the IRC and the ICC by providing an exceptional flight schedule and special pricing that easily and efficiently connects delegates and attendees to this extraordinary Inuvik conference this summer,” stated Steve Hankirk, President. “We are really looking forward to all of the celebrations in Inuvik.”

“Having Canadian North onboard to help us get all of our delegates from around the World here safe and sound is no small task, and for that we are very grateful. We are so pleased that they are assisting us.” said Nellie Cournoyea, IRC Chair and CEO.

In addition to Canadian North providing special pricing to all ICC delegates and attendees, a special conference flight schedule has been developed to ensure easy and seamless travel for delegates coming from across Canada.
