Apr. 1, 2014 - CANADIAN NORTH - BUSINESS AS USUAL

April 1, 2014 - Edmonton, AB - You may have heard that NorTerra has had some changes with regard to its ownership. Still 100% aboriginal owned, Norterra is now solely-owned by the Inuvialuit Development Corporation (IDC).

Perhaps you are wondering how this may affect you — our valued customer? First of all, it is business as usual at Canadian North.   We recently added a new seasonal route to Iqaluit from Halifax and St. John’s every Friday starting June 20th, and we just added an additional freighter flight for cargo between Ottawa and Iqaluit every Wednesday, both of which are very positive for the Nunavut market. We also increased our free checked baggage allowance to 70lb/33Kg on all jet services. Pivut and other fares remain the same. We will also continue to evaluate our markets for new opportunities and will adjust our flight schedules and prices accordingly. It really is business as usual at Canadian North.

We welcome you to reach out to our airport staff or local sales representative if you have any questions. However, Canadian North wants to reassure you that all remains the same at Canadian North – we remain - seriously northern.
