Now offers additional morning departures from Yellowknife to Edmonton

Canadian North is pleased to announce that it has enhanced its morning service between Yellowknife and Edmonton, now offering morning departures four days a week.

Since September 13, 2010, Canadian North has been offering a 7:00 departure from Yellowknife to Edmonton on Monday mornings. With their new schedule being released for sale February 3rd, customers will now have the option of departing the territorial capital in the morning four days a week – Mondays, Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays.

“Since the reduction of our schedule out of Yellowknife in October of 2009, we’ve received a lot of feedback from our Yellowknife customers, asking for morning departures to Edmonton. We were in a position to add a Monday morning flight in September of 2010, however we did not have the flying capacity to offer days of the week beyond that,” explains Canadian North’s Vice President of Scheduled Service, Lorraine Bonner. “With the very recent addition of our 737-300 aircraft, we have rearranged our aircraft routings to now offer Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning departures to Edmonton, in addition to the current Monday flight.”

The morning flight information is as follows:

In effect now – Monday departures at 7:00 am
Effective March 8 – Tuesday departures at 7:00 am
Effective April 1 – Friday departures at 7:00 am
Effective April 2 – Saturday departures at 9:10 am

These flights will be available for sale between Yellowknife and Edmonton mid-day on Thursday, February 3, 2011.

“We’re very pleased to be able to respond to the Yellowknife market with these additional flights,” states Ms. Bonner. “We trust that this new schedule will allow our customers to make better connections to our other southern destinations that we offer through our partnership with Air Canada, as well as to fly to and from Edmonton in the same day. We look forward to welcoming our loyal customers onboard these flights and count on their support to ensure we are able to maintain the frequency of these morning departures.”

Canadian North will continue to offer a generous baggage allowance of two pieces at up to 70lbs each; the ability to earn Aeroplan miles; status flights toward their loyalty program, Aurora Concierge; as well as hot meals on these morning departures.
