Contest Rules & Regulations
- Six prizes of airfare for two are available to be won.
- Winners will have the option to travel to one of the following four destinations: Vancouver, Edmonton, Kelowna or Calgary.
- Monthly draws will be conducted on the fourth Friday following the end of the month, at 2:00 MST.
- Travel is valid for six months after notification of winning.
- Taxes and fees are the responsibility of the traveler and must be paid at the time of booking.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be sold nor converted into cash.
- Canadian North reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the prizes for prizes of approximately equal or greater retail value at any time and for any reason including, without limitation, by way of cash award.
- Contest valid on Canadian North flight 423 from Yellowknife to Edmonton, from September 1, 2011 to February 28, 2012.
- The Contest is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the territory or province in which they reside, excluding residents of Quebec, all employees of Canadian North, officers and directors of Canadian North and its affiliates, those travelling on non-revenue tickets or industry travel, W (Aeroplan travel), E (Prize-winner travel), (AIR MILES travel), L (Inclusive Package travel), and S (PIVUT travel).
- In order to be declared a winner, each selected entrant who is eligible for a prize will be equired to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, unaided.
- No purchase necessary.
- Individuals wishing to enter the contest without purchase can do so by filling out a blank sheet of paper with the Contest name (“Fly the earlybird contest”), their name, address, postal code, phone number, signature and a 200-word or less essay on why they would like to travel to one of the destinations available in the contest, and mailing it to “Fly the earlybird contest”, 300, 5201-50 Avenue, Yellowknife, NT, XIA 3S9, Canada. Individuals may enter more than once, however each entry must be an original piece of writing (no photocopying of entries allowed) and must be submitted separately.
- All entries become the property of Canadian North and will not be returned.
- All mail-in entries must be received before 5:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month following the month that the draw is being conducted for.
- By entering the contest, the entrant consents to give Canadian North a royalty-free perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and publish the submission in whole or in part and to incorporate it into other works, including for promotional or marketing purposes.
- The entrant agrees to indemnify Canadian North against all claims from any third party for any use made by Canadian North of the submission.
- By entering the contest, the entrant grants consent for Canadian North to publish and disseminate his or her name, city of residence, photograph, and likeness in connection with any promotion or publicity and for general news, entertainment, and informational purpose with no additional compensation to the entrant. Without restricting the generality of the foregoing, winners agree to have their entry and photograph posted in Northern Flyer, Canada North's in-flight magazine.
