Transport Canada requires any person or company not having a Canadian North Cargo Account or shipping on a regular basis to complete an Unknown Shipper Verification and Release form prior to tendering cargo for air transportation. Picture identification is required.
Shipping gifts and other wrapped parcels
Transport Canada regulations state that all packages we accept must be secure before being loaded onto our aircraft. In order to make sure that your shipment is secure, our agents are required to verify all of the pieces in it. Since they will have to open your package to do this, please do not wrap any of your boxes in wrapping paper and/or seal them with tape.
Canadian North has established cut-off times to ensure on-time performance of our scheduled flights and prompt delivery of your cargo:
- Domestic Cargo - 90 minutes to 2 hours prior to scheduled departure*
- Dangerous Goods - 24 hours prior to scheduled departure
* Varies by commodity type. Please contact your local cargo office for details.
