April 25, 2017 - Update on Canadian North's Upcoming New Flight Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: APRIL 25, 2017 Canadian North is committed to providing safe, reliable and efficient passenger and cargo service to, from and across the North – always with exceptional customer service and warm Northern hospitality. On May 17, 2017, it will launch an extensive new flight schedule, featuring expanded jet capacity and additional scheduled flights for its medical, duty, corporate and leisure travellers, with the ability to accommodate even more groups and cargo across its network.

In order to ensure its ongoing sustainability, Canadian North continuously monitors demand for its passenger and cargo services throughout its network. After careful consideration, it has decided to cancel its plans to resume operating flights to Clyde River, Nunavut. This decision was made in response to unique factors pertaining solely to Clyde River, including an inadequate number of confirmed bookings as well as limited demand for its freight services due to the lack of a contracted retail partner within this community. Furthermore, Canadian North was unable to identify sufficient qualified candidates or source a contractor to manage its operations in Clyde River.

Canadian North will contact its customers who are currently booked to travel to or from Clyde River to confirm their re-accommodation on another air carrier.

Canadian North remains confident that there is ample demand and strong potential to grow its market-share within the other 18 markets in its network, including the 4 communities where it will resume or significantly expand its operations - Pangnirtung, Qikiqtarjuaq, Pond Inlet and Kugluktuk. In return for the ongoing support of its customers, Canadian North will continue to meet or beat all competitors on price, product and customer service, with industry-leading benefits such as the ability to earn Aurora Rewards points AND Aeroplan Miles as well as exclusive Aurora Concierge privileges for its most frequent fliers.

Canadian North thanks its customers for their ongoing support and reaffirms its commitment to serve as a safe and sustainable airline partner for the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
