Wireless Inflight Entertainment

Available on the following daily scheduled flights*, beginning in early 2019:

  • Flights 436 and 437 - Iqaluit ⇄ Ottawa
  • Flights 444 and 445 - Edmonton ⇄ Yellowknife ⇄ Norman Wells ⇄ Inuvik
  • Also available on select charter flights operated by Canadian North.

Simple steps to enjoy this service

Before your flight:

  • If you are using a mobile device (such as a smart phone or tablet), please download the free ‘Airtime Player’ app.
         
  • If you are using a laptop computer, you will be able to access the system with Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Please note that Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are not supported.
  • Fully charge your device (and you can also consider bringing an extra external battery).
  • Bring your favourite non-Bluetooth headphones with you.

Once on board:

  • Place your device in airplane mode and make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on.

After take-off:

  • Connect to our ‘AirtimeInflight’ Wi-Fi network. If there is more than one AirtimeInflight network, please select the one with the strongest signal.
  • Launch your web browser and type airtimeinflight.com (your device may do this automatically).
  • Sit back, relax and enjoy.

If you leave your seat with your device, you may need to reconnect to the network when you return.

Inflight entertainment will be available from after take-off until just before landing. We’ll let you know when it’s time to remove your headphones.

Technical requirements

Inflight entertainment can easily be accessed on a Wi-Fi enabled (802.11g/n) smartphone, tablet or laptop computer that complies with the below requirements.

If you are using a mobile device (such as a smartphone or tablet), you may need to install a free Airtime Player app before your flight due to digital rights management requirements for the movie and TV content that is provided. This app is available for Apple and Android devices.

If you are using a laptop computer, you will be able to access the system with Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Please note that Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are not supported.
